Yeah, Smack was great! Kinda like Stooges, so i don?t know if they were ahead of their time...Well, fashion-wise of course. In my opinion Smack on you remains one of the best albums in 80?s.

IMHO Smack were bit more raw than Hanoi (well, at least their 1st/best album), and it really didn?t have much to do with glamrock.

Rane and Manchuria stayed in LA (Smack did its last single there, Can you dig it, Sam Yaffa played bass under the name of Ulan Bator). Rane plays in Hangmen these days (he plays in their latest album "Loteria"), and Manchuria is doin some icehockey www-sites. That Smackonyou-site is his and his wife?s, Judi?s, site.

Kinde played in a band called Jimsonweed ( sort of stoner band), made 1 album and 1 minialbum, then quit playing/ other bad habbits and built a house to countryside.
Cheri played in a band called The Smilers, Faces- like RnR, they made lot of gigs in mid-90?s and 1 album. Don?t know what he does these days.

Jimi Sero (the bassist after Cheri) played in a band called The Balls (it was Rane?s band before Smack moved to LA, Rane played bass in it. Jimi decided to not leave to LA), after that he drove a taxi, and now he is a tailor.
